New transforming tablets from Asus

A day before official opening of the Computex 2016 exhibition in Taipei the Asus company has presented three transforming tablets — the advanced Transformer 3 Pro which is surprisingly similar to Surface Pro 4, more available Transformer 3 and tiny Transformer Mini.

ASUS Transformer 3 is equipped with the 12.6-inch display with the permission of WQHD+ (2880x1920 pixels), the Intel Core processor of the seventh generation, to 8 GB of random access memory 2133 MHz and to 512 GB on the SSD store, Wi-fi modules (802.11ac) and Bluetooth 4.1, the scanner of fingerprints and the Transformer Sleeve Keyboard keyboard cover with the course of keys of 1.4 mm and illumination. 

Resolution of the main camera makes 13 Megapixels, frontal — 5 Megapixels. Tablet dimensions with the metal case make 303x202x6.9 mm, weight — 695 grams. The Windows 10 operating system is preset.

The senior Asus Transformer 3 Pro model in the case from metal and with the built-in support has also caught the 12.6-inch screen with the resolution of 2880х1920 pixels. There is an Intel Core processor of the sixth generation (Core i5-6200U or Core i7-6500U), to 16 GB of random access random access memory, to 1 TB on SSD with the PCIe 3x4 interface, a 13-megapixel main chamber, the 8-megapixel frontal module supporting the Windows Hello function for login "on the person", the scanner of fingerprints, Wi-Fi (802.11ac) and Bluetooth 4.1, the HDMI interface and the Cover Keyboard keyboard cover with the course of keys of 1.4 mm and illumination. The sizes of the tablet make 298.8x210.1x8.35 mm weight: 795 гр. An operating system - Windows 10.

Both novelties have received high-quality Harmon Kardon loudspeakers and the USB Type-C Thunderbolt 3 socket which allows to connect a docking station of ROG XG Station 2 with the powerful video card. As a result tablets can be used for a 4K-geyming and immersion in virtual reality by means of Oculus Rift or HTC Vive helmets. Also tablets are compatible to other company accessories of ASUS, such as the PEN stylus, a universal docking station of Universal Dock and acoustics of AudioPod.

The hybrid Asus Transformer Mini tablet is put into the case from a magnesium-aluminum alloy and 790 grams with the keyboard and 530 grams without keyboard, product thickness - 8.2 mm weigh. The novelty will suit those who prefer compact devices. The 10.1-inch display, the scanner of fingerprints and the support allowing to install the tablet at an angle to 170 degrees is installed in the tablet, there are an USB port and Wi-Fi 802.11ac. The Windows Hello and ZenSync functions for synchronization of the text messages sent via the smartphone are supported. The declared time of autonomous work - 11 hours. The connected keyboard has the course of keys in 1.5 mm. Other specifications of this tablet remained are unknown.

Start date of sales isn't reported. The price of Asus Transformer 3 begins with $799, the cost of Asus Transformer 3 Pro with initial characteristics makes $999, the basic Asus Transformer Mini version is offered for $349.
