The Google Pixel C tablet possesses mediocre maintainability

Handymen of iFixit prepared the powerful Google Pixel C tablet which official presentation has taken place even in the fall of last year.

Gadget, we will remind, bears onboard the NVIDIA Tegra X1 processor with eight 64-digit computing kernels and a graphic subsystem on the basis of Maxwell microarchitecture. The volume of random access memory makes 3 Gbytes; capacity a flash store — 32 or 64 Gbytes. The display with diagonal 10,2 inches has permission 2560 × 1800 points, with a pixel density of 308 ppi and with a maximum brightness of 500 nit. There is a symmetric port USB Type-C.

The tablet can be completed with Bluetooth keyboard with an adjustable tilt angle of a support. As a program platform the Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system is used.

iFixit notes that for access to internal components of the device it is necessary to dismantle the display that is very complex challenge because of strong adhesive substance. The main motherboard and the rechargeable battery are pasted to back part of the case that also seriously complicates dismantling.

Opening has shown that the flash store and chips of random access memory are made by the Samsung company. Besides, the Broadcom BCM43540LKUBG 5G Wi-fi 802.11a controller, the Nuvoton NAU88L25 audiocodec and the STMicroelectronics STM32F3x8 32 bit ARM Cortex-M4 microcontroller are used.

From pluses of a design the modularity of many components is called that simplifies their replacement. In general maintainability is estimated at 4 points from 10 possible.
